Las Vegas Bus System

The Regional Transportation Commission runs the CAT bus. The transit system now covers Boulder City, Henderson, Green Valley, Las Vegas (including parts of Summerlin and a drop off near Nellis AFB) and North Las Vegas (Centennial Hills). You can see the entire route map here, it opens a pdf file so make sure your pop up blocker is disabled.

The RTC also promotes car pooling and bus ridership to reduce smog in the valley. Participating employers may sell discounted bus passes and have other promotions designed to increase ridership through the RTC Club Ride program. Members are eligible for monthly prize drawings.

CAT rolled out a new "tour" type transit bus for the Las Vegas strip area in October of 2005. The "Deuce" is the first double decker bus in Las Vegas and can be seen up and down the strip. There is also an elevated light rail service that runs up and down the strip area. The Las Vegas monorail seats about 60 people and runs 24/7. Coverage is from the MGM to the Las Vegas Hilton, with stops in between including the convention center, with additional expansion planned.
